What is Krona? One connected system for construction intelligence, CRM and technical workflows

Krona connects project intelligence, customer relationships, drawing workflows, estimating, quotation and delivery in one construction-focused platform.

Construction software should follow the job, not fight it

Construction businesses rarely suffer from a lack of software. The problem is that project leads, customer information, drawings, take-offs, quotations, technical documents and production updates often live in different systems.

Krona is being built around a different idea: connect the information that wins the work with the information that delivers it. Instead of forcing a construction business into a generic CRM, Krona is shaped around the products, people, documents and decisions that actually move a project forward.

K:Intel — project intelligence with a commercial purpose

K:Intel is the project intelligence layer. Its job is not simply to collect projects. It is to help teams identify relevant opportunities, understand the companies involved, record useful intelligence and move genuine enquiries into the live sales workflow.

Projects can be filtered, watched, enriched with notes and archived when they are not suitable. When an opportunity becomes real, it can move into K:Manage and become a traceable project rather than being re-keyed into another system.

  • →Relevant project and company intelligence
  • →Opportunity ranking and filtering
  • →Project notes, watch status and archive controls
  • →A direct route from intelligence into live CRM and quoting

K:Manage — CRM and project management in one working view

K:Manage brings the commercial workflow together in a visual, card-based environment. The intention is simple: a team should be able to see where every enquiry and live project sits without opening multiple spreadsheets or disconnected applications.

From the project card, users can move into quoting, revisions, production information, documents and project history. The CRM becomes part of the project workflow rather than a separate database that has to be maintained for its own sake.

K: Mark Up — turn drawings into usable project information

K: Mark Up is the drawing review and measurement layer within the Krona family. It is designed for construction teams that need professional PDF mark-up, measurement, scale control and quantifiable drawing information without losing traceability back to the project.

The aim is to make drawing review more useful downstream. Mark-ups, measurements and take-off information should be able to feed the wider project record instead of remaining trapped in a standalone PDF session.

K: CAD — CAD that connects design to the rest of the business

K: CAD is being developed as a professional 2D and 3D CAD environment with familiar drafting and modelling workflows, while adding the construction-specific automation that conventional CAD products often leave to separate plugins.

The long-term value is the connection: CAD, product automation, take-off, engineering and project data can become part of one workflow. That creates opportunities for company-specific tools, repeatable product design and engineering add-ons such as K: FEA without forcing users to jump between disconnected applications.

Why the connected approach matters

A project can begin as intelligence, become an enquiry, move through quotation and technical review, generate drawings and take-offs, enter production and finish with a complete commercial and technical history. Krona is designed so that the same project record can support that journey.

That means less duplicate entry, clearer ownership, stronger traceability and more useful automation. It also means that tools such as CRM, mark-up and CAD can share context instead of behaving like isolated products.

  • →One project record from opportunity to delivery
  • →Less duplicate data entry
  • →Better traceability across commercial and technical decisions
  • →Automation built around real construction workflows
  • →A platform that can be configured around different construction businesses

What comes next

Krona is being developed as a working platform, not a static concept. Upcoming articles will look in more detail at construction CRM, automated project intelligence, professional drawing mark-up, CAD automation, take-off and the engineering tools that connect design decisions to live projects.

The goal is straightforward: make the software fit the construction business, rather than making the construction business fit the software.
